No Cholera Case Registered in Afghanistan Thus Far
The Ministry of Public Health has refuted the claims made by certain media outlets regarding the presence of cholera disease in Afghanistan, deeming them inaccurate. In response to these reports, the ministry clarified that there have been no recorded cases of cholera disease in the country thus far. They assured that if such cases were to arise, the information would be promptly shared.
The ministry explained that the media had referenced a United Nations report from June 19, 2024, which mentioned "acute diarrhea" in relation to Afghanistan within the context of the Eastern Mediterranean region.
However, this term does not correspond to the figures related to cholera. Furthermore, the ministry emphasized its commitment to collaborative efforts in combating infectious diseases and expressed its determination to implement measures in partnership with international counterparts to effectively control any potential outbreaks.
