Construction of Agha Jan Dam to Commence Soon
According to the Ministry of Water and Energy, the Aghajan dam in Uruzgan province holds a prominent position on the ministry's list of priorities, and the allocated budget for conducting studies and feasibility assessments has been approved.
During a meeting with Mulla Bari Gul, the Deputy Governor of Uruzgan province, the Minister of Water and Energy expressed steadfast determination to execute this project in accordance with the instructions of His Highness Amirul Momineen Hufzallah. Consequently, efforts are being made to commence the work promptly.
The Aghajan dam, situated in the Chinarto district, is one of the largest dams in Uruzgan province. Its construction began in 1395, but it remained unfinished.
The completion of this dam holds great significance for the local residents as it will facilitate irrigation for thousands of acres of land and provide electricity to the people. The inhabitants of Uruzgan province anticipate that the construction of this dam will bring about substantial transformations in the agricultural sector.
