Trump supporters: Israel should conclude the war they started
Reuters has reported that Donald Trump is currently in discussions with a group of ardent supporters who strongly backed him during his election campaigns regarding a potential U.S. strike on Iran.
These supporters, who coalesced under the banner of MAGA in 2016, have maintained close ties with Trump and have been steadfast in their support across both election cycles.
According to the report, members of MAGA are apprehensive about the prospect of the U.S. embroiling itself in a conflict in the Middle East and have implored Trump to steer clear of such entanglements.
Steve Bannon, a former military official and a member of the organization, emphasized that any conflict initiated by Israel should be resolved independently by Israel.
Speaking at a recent gathering, Bannon alluded to the past losses experienced by the U.S. in Iraq, asserting, “We are averse to entering into another war that could divide our nation.”
In response to these sentiments, Trump stated, “I deeply value the support of my backers, but my primary objective is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear armaments.”
These discussions unfold as Trump has sanctioned a plan for a potential strike on Iran, although a final decision is yet to be made.
