Iran and Israel Accept Ceasefire Agreement
The Associated Press has stated that Tehran and Tel Aviv have both agreed to a ceasefire proposal sponsored by the United States following 12 days of hostilities.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed his acceptance of the U.S.-backed ceasefire plan, cautioning that any breach would be met with a "robust retaliation."
According to sources, the ceasefire was implemented in Iran at 7:30 a.m., although Iranian authorities have not issued an official statement on the subject.
Media supported by the U.S. relayed President Donald Trump's tweet on Monday, announcing, "A ceasefire between Iran and Israel is set to commence in the next 24 hours."
Trump expressed that this development would mark the conclusion of the 12-day conflict, expressing gratitude to "the Emir of Qatar" for his efforts in fostering peace in the area.
On Tuesday, Trump confirmed the ceasefire's enactment and urged both sides to uphold the agreement, as reported by Reuters.
