Foreign minister engaged in telephone conversation with Uzbek counterpart
Afghanistan's Foreign Minister, Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, engaged in a phone discussion with his Uzbek counterpart, Bakhtiar Saidov, focusing on enhancing bilateral and multilateral relations, expanding political, economic, and transit cooperation, as well as deliberating on the Afghan-Trans project.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that during this conversation, Uzbek Foreign Minister Saidov expressed contentment over the threefold increase in Afghan exports to Uzbekistan in the initial four months of 2025. He pledged to enhance trade and transit facilities between the two countries and streamline visa issuance for Afghan nationals.
Conversely, Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi emphasized Afghanistan's readiness to execute significant regional economic projects, emphasizing the mutual benefits that could be reaped by both nations.
Moreover, the two diplomats discussed the logistics of an upcoming trilateral meeting involving the foreign ministers of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan, touching upon the details of its location and scheduling.
